Success is neither mystery nor accident

Of all creatures humans are physically the most ill-equipped. Nature's greatest gift to humankind is the ability to think. A lot of research has been done on the subject of success and failure. Success does not mean being liked and accepted by everyone. The secrets of success can be learned from the life histories of successful people. Successful people do not do great things rather do small things in a great way. They succeeded in spite of problems, not in their absence or just got lucky. Everything is difficult before it becomes easy.True success is measured by the sense that we have done a job well and have achieved our objective. Success in life is not determined by how we are doing compared with others, but by how we are doing compared with what we are capable of doing. Everyone faces disappointments, but the difference is that the winners do not get disheartened. People who have overcome obstacles are more secure than those who have never faced them. One day a partially deaf child came back home with a note in his pocket from his teacher, "Your son is too stupid to learn, so get him out of the school." The mother determined to teach the son herself, and that boy grew up to be the great Thomas Edison. So in all, Thomas Edison had only three months of formal schooling. Successful people are not ten times smarter than the people who fail. They may be marginally better, but the rewards are 10 times bigger. The need is not for improving 100 percent in any particular, but that we need to improve 1 percent in a hundred different areas, which is a lot easier. Success is neither a mystery nor an accident. Nothing worthwhile in life comes without struggle. Winners see possibilities and make commitments, but losers see problems and make promises. Success and happiness go hand-in-hand. All success stories are stories of great failures. Nothing happens in a single attempt. Success leaves clues. Should we be able to identify and adopt the qualities of successful people, then we too shall be successful. Success depends upon the fighting spirit of each individual.
